Leeds and Sbotop announced the signing of a new sponsorship agreement in August 2020. Sbotop signed on as Leeds United Football Club shirt sponsors, and they depicted the brand logo and title on the club’s jersey during official and unofficial matches. They will display at all of the club’s press briefings, announcements, and awards and sign the deal for a club sponsorship record of 6 million Pounds. Leeds will receive 6 million Pounds for each season over the next five years or 30 million Pounds in total. After or before 2025, the club and the sponsor could agree to new terms or end their partnership in 2025, which could see Leeds sign with a different sponsor.

Leeds gained a trusted partner with current Premier League sponsors and access to funds over the next five years to bring key players to the club.

As most teams witnessed Leed United’s rise, so did many sponsors. Several top sponsors were vying for Leeds United’s signature at the time. In the end, Sbotop made the most fiscal and financial sense for all the parties involved. Apart from Sbotop, Leeds United is also sponsored by JD (contracted till 2021), Clipper Logistics (contracted till 2022), Heineken, Deliveroo, Wish, Transunion, Burflex, Autocare, and a few other local brands in Leeds.

Previously, 32Red sponsored Leeds United before Sbotop signed a new sponsorship agreement in 2020. The deal with Sbotop was a significant improvement from the previous terms in place with 32Red since Leeds was playing football in a different league altogether. However, even though it was Leed’s first season back in the Premier League, Leeds managed to bag a better offer than some current Premier League teams. Everton, Aston Villa, Leicester, Westham, Burnley, and a few other teams already in the Premier League were paid less for their shirt sponsorships. Everton has since signed a better deal with a different shirt sponsor, and Sbotop currently sponsors Westham.

The top teams in the league have shirt contracts over 30 million Pounds, going up to 60 million and more per year. Manchester United has one of the highest shirt sponsorship deals in football globally and football history. United has a shirt sponsorship multi-year deal with Chevrolet. However, as inflation increases each year, the deals clubs are expected to sign will break the 100 million Pound barrier for a shirt sponsorship in the current decade or by 2030.

Sbotop is registered to operate in Europe with the same title and works out of Asia as SBOBET. However, both brand names are well-known among sports bettors in Asia, Europe, and the rest. Apart from EPL sponsorships, Sbotop sponsors teams such as Cardiff FC and Mohun Bagan FC.
