Boston, Apr 14, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - The Black Economic Justice Institue (BEJI) has been awarded $20,000 as part of the $3M Boston Resiliency Fund. Among the 29 organizations awarded that provide essential services to front-line workers, BEJI has received the grant to help fund initiatives started only weeks ago to make resources available to Boston's Black and underserved communities amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The Black Economic Justice Institute has launched an initiative to aid the strains of the local Black community and additionally has secured a dedicated weekly slot on Boston Praise Radio's Thursday morning show to listen to the stories of people, hurting within the Black community of Boston and gathering data on their specific needs. (The BEJI Report, on Boston Praise Radio & TV WBPG-LP 102.9 FM and
online airs from 8 am to 10 am Every Thursday).

BEJI is in the process of distributing the $20,000 newly received from The Boson Resiliency Fund, matching privately funded, and already distributed $20,000 worth of grocery and pharmacy gift cards to Black families in need.  BEJI is actively working to find and secure additional funding to help continue this and all initiatives set forth by their Chairman Anthony Banks. BEJI's initiatives are entirely geared toward being a voice for and supporting Blacks in Boston, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through initiatives like these, BEJI seeks to equalize the rapid effects of the outbreak on Black families living in Boston with little to no access to resources in order to help them increase their chances of survival.
