The certificate filed Friday makes clear that Meghan did not give birth to the child in the couple's Frogmore Cottage home, as had been rumored. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at the Portland Hospital in central London on May 6. He is seventh in line for the British throne. Harry and Meghan announced weeks before the birth that they wanted to keep many details of his birth private. Meghan's name is listed...

Prince Harry accepts apology for intrusive images

May 20, 2019

LONDON — Prince Harry settled privacy and data protection claims Thursday against a news agency that hovered over his home in a helicopter and took photos directly into his living room and bedroom. Harry accepted substantial damages and an apology from Splash News and Picture Agency. The figure was not disclosed. In a statement read at High Court in London on Harry's behalf, his attorney Gerrard Tyrrell said the rural retreat in Oxfordshire, southern England was chosen because of "the high level of privacy it afforded," but that now he and his wife Meghan feel "they are no longer able...

BBC DJ fired after royal baby tweet with chimpanzee picture

May 20, 2019

LONDON — A BBC disc jockey has been fired after using a picture of a chimpanzee in a tweet about the royal baby born to Meghan the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry. Danny Baker tweeted Thursday that he has been fired after posting an image of a couple holding hands with a chimpanzee dressed in clothes and the caption: "Royal baby leaves hospital." The tweet was seen as a racist reference to baby Archie's heritage. His grandmother Doria Ragland is African American. Baker says the posting was an "enormous mistake." It has since been deleted. BBC Radio...

Wool wrap for royal baby suggests tradition will win out

May 20, 2019

LONDON — Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor slept through his first press conference, but royal experts say the merino wool wrap in which he snuggled said a lot about how his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will approach his future. Meghan, a former TV star, is known for promoting social causes and niche brands with her clothing choices. Yet she and Harry introduced their son to the world Wednesday in a hand-finished shawl and cashmere cap made by G.H. Hurt & Son of Nottingham, whose intricate knitwear has swaddled royal babies for decades. Wrapping Archie in a shawl...
